Launching Fortnite "steals" bandwith from my other Television that's using internet.
Hello.
I've been having this problem as soon as I installed Fortnite.
When I launch the game, the television(cable television) stops. If i close down the game, the television starts working again. Happens 10/10 times.
I called the provider, they changed the box, the router, but the problem persists.
He suggested that maybe the game is using the same port/protocol that the TV is using but I don't know what that means, and i've tried searching but nothing found until now.
Can someone enlighten me with this problem?
My router is a Thomson TG784.
Thanks in advance
If your router has a QoS (Quality of Service) setting you'll need to set it up otherwise any device on your network can take most or all of the bandwidth. This is usually a feature only available in high end routers, I'm unfamiliar with your particular model but I'd check the documentation for it.
The thing is, is not the device thats stealing bandwidth, but rather the game. I have no problems with other games(LoL,CS:GO)
I've Solved the problem by using a VPN. I have a friemd who is a computer enginner and he told me to do that and somehow it worked.
Thanks anyway
